Serving Vermont, New Hampshire (NH), Maine, and surrounding areas throughout New England, our conveniently located Stratham, NH center offers breast enlargement, liposuction, facelift, and more. Patients interested in these or any other cosmetic surgery procedure should seek the professional opinion of cosmetic surgeon Dr. Richard Zeff. While we encourage all potential patients to review the list of frequently asked questions we have provided below, we want to emphasize that only a proper consultation with Dr. Zeff can give you a true explanation of your desired cosmetic surgery procedure.

Breast Augmentation

Q: How much does breast augmentation cost?

A: At our Stratham, NH center, the cost of Saline breast enlargement (breast augmentation) is $5800. The cost for Silicone Gel is $7200. These fees include surgeon, facility, anesthesia, and implants.

Q: What is the recovery time after breast enlargement? How long will I be out of work?

A: Most discomfort lasts only four to five days, and you will be given a prescription for strong pain medication that should keep you comfortable. This is usually followed by another week of milder discomfort. At least one week off work is recommended.

Q: Are there scars? Where are they? Are they permanent?

A: While there are several ways to put in breast implants, Dr. Zeff feels that a small incision either under the breast or in the areolar margin is the best. The scars are rarely visible except on close examination.

Q: How safe are implants?

A: Since the implant controversy of the early 1990s, there have been numerous objective studies demonstrating the safety of breast implants. The patient satisfaction rate is extremely high and the safety record is exceptional.

Q: Are women able to breast feed after a breast augmentation?

A: Yes, you should still be able to breast feed after having breast enlargement surgery. In most cases, the implants are placed behind the muscles, thus behind the glands, too, and as a result will not interfere with breast-feeding.

Q: Does the price of breast enlargement increase if the size of the implants increase?

A: No, the price for breast augmentation does not increase with the size of the implants.

Q: How long will the breast implants appear high and un-natural?

A: Implants may appear high for several weeks following surgery. You will be given instructions on breast massage exercises to help keep the implants soft and mobile. They will look more natural as your muscles continue to relax.

Liposuction

Q: How much does liposuction cost?

A: At our Stratham, NH center, the cost of liposuction depends on the number of areas to be treated, as well as the size of those areas. The cost to do an abdomen ("tummy") ranges from $2500-5000, which includes everything except prescriptions. The cost to do abdomen, hips, and thighs ranges from $4000-7500. It is also important to be aware that there is a safe limit to the amount that can be removed in one operation – generally between three to five liters of fat.

Q: What is the recovery time after liposuction? How long will I be out of work?

A: Recovery depends on the extent of the liposuction. There are always at least three to five days of discomfort and two to three weeks of bruising. The improvement in shape is obvious almost immediately. Mild, painless swelling can last several weeks. Most people can return to work in less than one week.

Q: Are there scars? Where are they? Are they permanent?

A: Liposuction usually requires at least two tiny incisions for each area treated. While they never disappear completely, these scars are very small and hard to see.

Q: Can the fat come back?

A: Because the number of fat cells has been permanently reduced in these areas, the fat will not return as you might expect. In fact, if you gain weight, the fat will grow more evenly depending on the number of fat cells.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

Q: How long does a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment last?

A: BOTOX® injection treatments generally last three to six months.

Q: Is the treatment painful?

A: Discomfort related to the injections themselves is minimal. No anesthesia is needed, and the procedure generally takes about 10 minutes. Most people return directly to work after a BOTOX® injection. Results begin to appear in a few days, and the treatment reaches its fullest effect in about a week.

Q: Is BOTOX® Cosmetic right for you?

A: Any image-conscious man or woman 18 to 65 years of age and concerned about the appearance of frown lines may be a good candidate for the BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment. For those who wish to avoid surgery, BOTOX® Cosmetic can sometimes be a good solution. Dr. Zeff and our Nurse Injectors will determine if BOTOX ® Cosmetic is the right treatment for each patient.

Facelift

Q: What does a facelift do?

A: A facelift lifts and tightens the sagging areas of the cheeks and neck due to loose or extra skin. It does not, however, remove the fine lines or wrinkles that are the result of weathering and years of sun exposure. These can be improved by laser skin resurfacing.

Q: Where are incisions placed?

A: Facelift incisions are placed in the temples and around the ears. In some cases, a small incision is made under the chin. Many hairstyles effectively conceal facelift scars.

Q: What results can I expect?

A: Dr. Richard Zeff works with each patient at his cosmetic surgery center to develop a personalized treatment plan that is suited to individual needs and goals. Although each patient's results are different, Dr. Zeff's fundamental commitment to safety and satisfaction helps create exceptional outcomes. For facelift patients, this means he emphasizes natural-looking rejuvenation for a more rested and youthful overall appearance.

Q: Who performs the laser treatments?

A: Dr. Zeff and our nurses perform all of the laser treatments at Dr. Zeff's office.

Q: How many treatments are needed for permanent hair reduction?

A: Most people see improvement right away, however 3 to 6 treatments typically 4 to 6 weeks apart are recommended for optimal results.

GentleMAX Laser

Q: How does the Candela GentleMAX work?

A: The GentleMAX sends a high energy pulse that gives off a gentle beam of light directly to the hair follicle destroying the actual follicle without affecting the surrounding skin. The Dynamic Cooling Device cools the surface of the skin immediately prior to the pulse of the laser, allowing patients to be more comfortable during treatments.

Q: Who performs the laser treatments?

A: Dr. Zeff and our nurses perform all of the laser treatments at Dr. Zeff's office.

Q: How many treatments are needed for brown spots?

A: Typically 1 to 3 treatments are necessary. Patients should allow 4 to 6 weeks in between treatments for optimal results.

Q: What areas can be treated?

A: The laser works best on dark hair and lighter skin, allowing the greatest contrast between the skin and hair. Red, white, gray and blonde hair may not respond as well to the laser treatment.

Q: What precautions should be taken before and after treatment?

A: Patients should avoid exposure to the sun, tanning booths, tanning lotions, electrolysis and waxing for 4 to 6 weeks prior and throughout the duration of the treatments. You can discuss your desired results and the improvements you expect to achieve with the physician.

Q: How do you know if you are a good candidate for the GentleMAX laser?

A: The laser works best on dark hair and lighter skin, allowing the greatest contrast between the skin and hair. Red, white, gray and blonde hair may not respond as well to the laser treatment.

Brow Lift

Q: Which brow lift procedure is right for me?

A: That depends upon your needs; each technique treats different problems. A coronal forehead lift works well in correcting brow droop and deep wrinkles, the less invasive endoscopic brow lift can correct mild brow droop and wrinkles, and the subcutaneous forehead lift works well to avoid raising the hairline further, although scars are more visible.

Q: When may the final result of brow lift be seen?

A: Most patients will see their final results in two to four weeks.

Further questions about brow lift should be directed to cosmetic surgeon Dr. Zeff. Contact him today.
