Is Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty Possible?

When patients of Dr. Richard Zeff pursue eyelid surgery, they generally want to revitalize their facial aesthetic by addressing age-related concerns around the eyes. These imperfections frequently include deep wrinkles, creases, puffiness, and under-eye bags.

When eyelid surgery – which is known in the medical world as “blepharoplasty” – is performed by an experienced provider, this popular aesthetic procedure can create a more youthful appearance. With that in mind, however, Dr. Zeff understands that not every patient will be eligible for or interested in eyelid surgery. It’s perfectly valid for a patient not to want to undergo blepharoplasty, which is a major surgery that involves sedation and downtime.

Although a non-surgical equivalent to eyelid surgery has yet to be discovered, Dr. Zeff can often combat less significant signs of aging with injectable treatments, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, dermal fillers, or laser skin resurfacing. These options can ease the appearance of the same age-related phenomena targeted in blepharoplasty, such as deep lines and volume loss. Non-surgical treatments can’t produce effects that last as long as those of eyelid surgery, nor can their results be as dramatic; however, they can offer advantages such as shorter recovery times and a less intensive procedure.

No matter which treatments you decide to include, Dr. Zeff is excited to work with you to form your customized facial rejuvenation plan. Schedule your consultation with Dr. Zeff today!
