What is Jeuveau™?
Jeuveau is the latest FDA-approved injectable wrinkle-relaxing product designed to smooth vertical wrinkles and creases that form between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), which are commonly referred to as “furrows”, “frown lines”, and “11 lines”. Jeuveau works by temporarily preventing the muscles that cause these wrinkles from contracting, which can result in smoother, younger-looking skin in the treatment area. When compared with BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport, it is believed that Jeuveau may be more suitable for treating deep creases in some patients. The manufacturer of Jeuveau, Evolus®, claims that the purification process of the active ingredient is responsible for its remarkable treatment properties. Like BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport, the results achieved with Jeuveau generally last between three and four months before re-treatment is required.
Who Is a Candidate for Jeuveau™?

Candidates for Jeuveau must be at least eighteen years old with moderate to severe glabellar lines and reasonable expectations for their treatment outcome.
What Happens During Jeuveau™ Treatment?
Before Jeuveau injections are performed, cold compresses and/or a topical anesthetic gel can be applied to the treatment area to desensitize the skin. This reduces the likelihood of discomfort during injection, and most patients find the process to be quite tolerable. When the treatment area is ready, Jeuveau is injected into the facial muscles via a micro-fine needle. The appropriate quantity of Jeuveau is inserted to achieve the desired effect; however, it takes about a week for the results of Jeuveau to become apparent. When injections are complete, the cold compress may be applied again to reduce the potential for redness and swelling.
What Results Can I Expect with Jeuveau™?
Within one week after treatment the results of your Jeuveau injections should become visible, and by two weeks the effectiveness of the active ingredient in Jeuveau should be at its peak. If you would like to further enhance the effects of your Jeuveau treatment or would like to receive any touch-ups to balance your results, you may do so after two weeks. For the majority of patients, Jeuveau relaxes facial muscles for approximately three to four months; however, your individual results may vary. With repeated treatments of Jeuveau, muscles can weaken and may lead to results that last a bit longer than your initial treatment.
